Hi every 1...
as u can c i'm a newbie in remotes...
I have a Pioneer Reciver - VSX-D514, and a Pioneer dvd Divx Player - DV-470.
I had A gr8 remote for them model number - XXD3073, it is an universal LEARNING
remote.
Sadly, my dog ate it today and it is broken beyond repare.
I need a new remote to replace it, the problem is that where i live (israel) for a new remote like the 1 i had they want 150$!!!
I was wundering if there is some kinda' replacement remote i can buy
(even if it is in the states) that costs about half.
Also, does any 1 know if i can get the same remote in the states for less?
or for that matter any Pioneer universal learning remote similar to it?
It's really ergant couse my cousin is coming over from the states in a week!

Hi t_boaz,

There is a line of universal remotes that have the brand One For All. They sell a wide range of universal remotes with a good range of prices and I belive they have units locally for you.

If you go to the website www.oneforall.com and select your region (Middle East), you can see all of the remotes they have available, and you can find out where to buy them locally.

Hope this helps.

The current line of ofa remotes are missing the setup code the OP will need, its AMP code 0013. This code will give you access to advanced codes. Have your cousin pick up the radio shack 15-2116, it still has AMP code 0013 on board.

First of all I'd like to thank u both for the Answers :-)
1.Could some one explain to me - what are the advanced codes i will be able to acces on the radio shack 15-2116 remote?
2.Does any 1 know where i can purchace a new remote just as the 1 i had (that would be best for me)?
3.how r the kameleon remotes? is there any difference between them and the radio shack ones?

Hi t_boaz,
Advanced codes enable additional features not found on the original remote within the setup code. An example would be discrete on/off which might not be on the original remote, but the device can respond to it and the advanced code turns that feature on. you just have to choose what button to put that function on.

To get another of the OEM remotes, try the pioneer website. Only you can judge which is best, but the OFA type remotes are quite powerful especially when complemented with a jp1 cable and sofware. go to hifi-remote.com and look for the jp1 info ([Link: hifi-remote.com]). on the hifi-remote.com main page, you'll find info on advanced codes.

Can't comment on the kameleon remotes.

ok, thanks I think I'm starting to get it.
Now...how do i know if a specific remote (from radio-shack or OFA)
can do every thing i need for my reciver? there r some costom buttons
on the original remote, will it be able to have this functions as well?
and how do i know if a specific model of reciver (like the 1 i have) is supported by
a remote?

this forum is for remotes made by UEI only, these include universal and oem remotes, but pioneer remotes are not among them. Get a one-for-all remote, then ask a particular question, then someone might be able to help.
