Hi - tried my RS 15-2133's manual's presets for the following components and can't get any function. Searched the archives to no avail. I'm trying to use this remote with the following:
1. Sony CDP-CA80ES Compact Disc Changer (I've tried 0490, 0000, 0100)
2. Onkyo DV-S353 DVD Player (Tried 0503)
Can anyone help me out with some workarounds or codes? Thanks in advance.

When you tried the CD 0000, did you try all keys with the CD ON, and not just the power key?

As CD 0000, tried all keys with unit powered up and no response.

Try first making sure that your CD device button is actually set to a CD, and not some other component. Reason I say this is 'cause there are many Sony components that use 0000 as a setup code, so if for example the CD button was set to be a TV, it would accept the setup code but give you a different set of commands.

As near as I can tell, your Sony CD ought to respond to CD code 0000. Can't understand why it doesn't, like Ofafan says Sony is pretty consistent in their IR code assignments. Worth a re-check. Also, does the unit still respond to the OEM remote that came with it?
Your Onkyo DVD is probably DVD code 0627. Unfortunately that is not pre-loaded in the 2133, but if you call customer service they should be able to download it to you over the phone.

I contacted customer service and got some codes that worked. CD Player = 0605, DVD = 0627. Thank you all for your help on this.

Some sony cd players multiple remote unit codes, he probably had it set to one other then unit code #1.
