Hi folks,

I recently received a OneforAll Kameleon 8 (URC 9962). The thing is, I can setup my cable box in the remote (using General Instrument code), but seem to be unable to setup my TV and DVD/Home Theater in a Box in the remote. :(
BTW, if it's of any importance... I live in Singapore (South East Asia).

My TV is a Thomson, model 29DK91S/29DM91S
My DVD/Home Theater in a Box is a Pioneer, model HTZ-323DVD (XV-DV323 DVD Receiver & S-DV323 Speaker System)

Can anybody out there help? ???

Scyeige,

Your problem is that the URC 9962 has an IR library optimized for the North American market. Since Canada (where the 9962 variant is sold) is NTSC and Singapore is PAL, there is quite a difference in TV brands and models. For example, many newer Thomson PAL TVs respond to One-for-All's code TV 0625 -- which is what I would recommend you try, except that code is not in the URC 9962. Likewise, I think your Pioneer equipment may respond to audio code 1459, but once again that is not in the unit you have.

Since I would guess you wouldn't want to run up a stack of international long-distance phone bills trying to get the thing upgraded over the phone, you best bet is probably to go to the JP1 forum and see if someone there can help. The alternative is to try to obtain a European market version of the Kameleon like the URC 8206 which is much more likely to have codes for your equipment.

Thanks for the advice.
I did try calling (long distance) the support in Ohio, but somehow the upgrade over the phone did not work. And yes, I have done some research and the codes you suggested for me are the ones that I need, although the Pioneer also may respond to 1965.

Cheers!
