I've got an old Pioneer 3070 LD player I'm not ready to part with yet. I'm running my Tivo system off of a 6131 remote, which is not designed for LD. Is there away to teach this new remote non native codes? (I'm not even sure what the device code or button codes for the 3070 are.) I've got an open device slot (PVR, since my tivo is on the cable button) but I don't know if it's even possible to reprogram it to transmit LD commands.

Thanks,
Chris

I haven't looked up the model number, but your Pioneer LD player probably uses the LD/0059 code, which isn't in the URC-6131 (IIRC).

You have two options...

1) Modify the remote to be JP1-capable and load the code yourself, or

2) Send it into OFA and ask them to load it.

Btw, why would you program your Tivo PVR to the CBL button, when the remote has a perfectly good PVR button?

I'm on DirecTv, so my Tivo is also my cable/sat box. It's as easy to use one button as the other.

JP1 is something I've heard about, but I haven't researched yet. Since LD's have gone the way of Beta and the 8-track, I'll probably just let it slide.

Thanks for the info,
Chris

If you can stand to be without the 6131 for about a week, why not send it back to OFA for an upgrade for your LD player. The service is free and the remote that you get back will be JP1-compatible, in case you ever decide to look into it in the future.

Thanks, Rob, I'll keep it in mind. That may be a good project for when my family goes on summer vacation.
