Unless the egg remote you are talking about is RF only, you should be able to learn the codes to your 1994, especially if all you want is volume. THis won't consume very much of the learning memory at all.

Bruzer, if you get into jp1 there is an upgrade for your receiver in the files. It could be loaded to your 1994 and give you volume functions.
