Hi all, I just got this 9960 from ebay today, and I have the newer Direct Tv receiver model # d10-300, I can't get the 9960 to work with this receiver, and of course customer support for one for all is closed on weekends, anyone have a suggestion to get this working this weekend? Or I guess I will just have to wait for monday and hope their code over the phone works. I only have cordless phones in my house so I don't know if it will work anyway

The code you need is SAT 1377, you'll need to wait 'til Monday to have it loaded.

The 15-1994 and 15-2116 cannot be upgraded over the phone. They can only be upgraded by JP1 cable. I don't believe RS customer support will do that, so you'd need to get your own JP1 cable to install upgrades (about $15).

Rob included data some about SAT/1377 in one of the JP1 group's files, so I'm pretty sure there is enough data available to construct the full upgrade for it with the free JP1 software. The data Rob posted indicates that none of the models of OFA or RS remotes in his list include that setup code built-in, so any of those models would need the upgrade.

I'm both posting this reply and emailing it.

I'll elaborate on what John said. Rob has collected data on what setup codes are in all known upgradeable (by jp1) remotes from Universal Electronics (they make One For All and Radio Shack remotes). The data says that code 1377 (the one that DOES work for Direct TV) is not installed in any of the OFA or RS remotes that have been checked. This leaves you with three options:
One, you get a OFA remote that is phone upgradeable, call OFA on a weekday and have them upload the code for you.
Two, get a jp1 cable and build and load the upgrade into any jp1 compatable remote yourself.
Three, learn all of the commands you need/want to your universal learning remote. This may leave you with a few keys that don't fit, as the learning memory is small; and if you have any other keys learned from other devices it limits you even further.

You can't use a wireless, i.e. cell phone, for the upgrade. Your cordless phone plugs into the telephone company's lines, which is fine for upgrading.

OT: By the way, you should *always* have a real, corded phone available in your house.

How about a code for the 2138 radio shack Kameleon Remote Control for the direct tv d10 100.Is it the same as the d10 300?
Do you know what would help clear up a problem
with direct TV on a big screen?I have an 84 inch screen using a xd300u
Mitsubishi projector. The ball games looks somewhat blurry unless you stay
back 20 feet (was a bit digital with the d10 300 box and blurry, drove me
nuts).I had 5 years of dish network and no problems but wanted the Yankee
games on Yes.
email me at [email protected] Thanks for your help!Ron
