Hello,

I am a user from germany where I purchased the URC-9960 (eBay).

Now I need to upgrade my remote because neither my Sat-Receiver, my DVD-Player and last but not least nor my DVD-Recorder works.

From the ofausa support center I got the following codes:

Sat-Receiver:

HUMAX 5400Z has the codes: 0283, 0863, 1048, 1176, 1359, 1427, 1568

DVD-Player:

SABA DVD 431 has the code: 1977

DVD-Recoder:

Tevion DRW-1000 has the codes: 1036, 1227, 2014

I can not call the support line from germany ;-( .

So please can some one sent me a wave file or post me a link where I can find a wav. ?

And how do I upgrade the urc when I get the file ?

THX

Piotr

I don't think there is any site where you can download any significant selection of .wav files for the 9960, nor custom group them online (as I think you can for the European models).

Each time you install a .wav upgrade it replaces all previous .wav upgrades, so you need to group together all the setup codes you want into the input of the program that makes the .wav file. Premade wav files are only practical when you need just one upgrade.

The free software from the JP1 group does allow you to create upgrades and group them together and transform the result into a .wav file. But the process is harder than using that same software for its normal purpose (installing upgrades via a JP1 cable).

Since you have so many setup codes to guess among and you can't even be certain that list from the support center is really correct, it would be much easier to work with a JP1 cable than with .wav files.

The JP1 cable allows two way communication with the 9960, so you can learn signals from the original remote and decode them via JP1 and find out exactly what the upgrade should contain rather than guess and test.

If you get a JP1 cable, the 9960 also requires a "pogo pin adapter" to fit the JP1 cable to the holes in the remote during use. The web sites that offer JP1 cables for sale also offer that adapter.

how I can use it to get the codes from the original remotes

where I can buy this cable

and this "pogo pin adapter (?)".

I always forget which page Rob has told me to direct JP1 beginners to first. But here is one decent starting place:

The 9960 has a learning process described in its documentation. The learning memory is very limited, so it isn't practical to use learning as the primary method of programming the 9960. But you can learn signals, decode them via JP1 (into a better form for programming the 9960), then delete them to make room for learning more.

If you don't have that documentation, get an online cdopy from

Hello it`s me again and again I have a problem...

after purchasing a jp1 cable and and a pogo pin adapter I have problems to connect the cable and my URC-9960.

It`s because the 9960 has no pins and no holes but only 6 pads...

Must I buy another adapter to connect the cable ?

As I understand it, the "pogo" adapter is more like an extension that helps reach the JP1 pads that are recessed into the body of the 9960. You put the pogo adapter on the JP1 cable and you have to physically HOLD everything in contact with the pads while you do the update.

Look on this page, [Link: hovisdirect.com], at the picture with the footnote "Kameleon Adapter with Pogo Adapter in Kameleon".

I have seen this picture before but there is no way to use this item because it hasn`t be built for the URC-9960.

What I need is a "JP1 Header" but I do not know where I can buy one (or how to install it).

Can anyone give me a hint ? ;-))-;
