I bought a 6131 to replace the 4041 as I wasn't able to set the DVD input and Vol Off functions of my Integra A/V receiver - all is well now.
I decided to use the 4041 to operate our den system consisting of an Expressvu 3100, Sony XBR, Toshiba DVD player and Panasonic VCR.

All worked well until I tried to use the AUX button to control the VCR. I reassigned the AUX button to DVD/VCR and then used code #1062 to assign the Panasonic to this key (I tested #1062 with the DVD/VCR button and it works well). The light blinks twice as it should when I'm finished and when I reassigned the AUX button, but nothing happens when I try the Power or any other buttons. Is there a way to restore the AUX button back to factory settings so that I can start over from scratch? Failing that, do you have any other advice?

Is this how you did it:

1. press and hold SET/SETUP for two blinks
2. enter 9-9-2
3. press VCR
4. press AUX

5. press and hold sET/SETUP for two blinks
6. enter 1-0-6-2

Yes, and I got two blinks after 1-0-6-2, meaning that all was well. As I mentioned, if I program the DVD/VCR button with 1062, it controls the Panasonic without problems. Yet I can't seem to get the AUX button to perform the same function.

I guess the 4041 lacks the ability to reassign devices.

The manual states that it can reassign devices. In fact I previously had the AUX button controlling my Toshiba VCR by reassigning it as a "DVD/VCR" button on the 4041.

Try restoring the AUX to AUX,

1. press and hold SET for two blinks
2. enter 9-9-2
3. press AUX
4. press AUX again.

Make sure you're entering 9-9-2, and not 9-9-4 which you use when you keymove?

Holy mackanoony! I'm not sure why this works, but if I don't reassign the AUX key as a DVD/VCR key, I can use the 1062 code on the AUX key and control my VCR. Yet I needed to reassign the AUX as DVD/VCR in order to control my Toshiba VCR. You probably can't see this, but I'm really scratching my head over this one.

Thanks.....yet again.
