Hi ... reading through some of the other Onkyo threads, i was able to configure my 6131 to switch to DVD mode using the #7 key ... however, I'm still not able to control the DVD (play, pause, etc.) Any suggestions? Thanks!

What setup code are you using?

0135 for the audio and 0842 for the #7 key.
