I just bought this remote from walmart and the only thing i was able to get it to work was my sony tv...I also have a sony DAV BC250 which is a surround sound system and dvd player in one and a Hughes directtv dvr and not able to operate that either. Anyone ever been able to get these to work or can someone point me in the right direction to get these devices to work please...

You can work the Tivo using VCR/0618. I'm not familiar with the DAV BC250, but have you tried DVD/0533 to see if it works the DVD functions and the various audio codes listed for Sony (ie, 0158, 1058, 1158, etc) to see if they work the sound functions?
Rob.

DAV BC250 is a dream system, which uses AUD code 1658, but it isn't in the 8810.

I have tried the sony codes and they did not work...but for the tivo the vcr code you listed will it also provide the functions that my tivo remote uses. Will it function or will i need to do additional learning using my existing remote. and actually by manually programming each button i can somewhat bypass this problem i am having...thank you for the info i will give it a try...

mesiii,
As far as the Sony system, it is unlikely that you will be able to use this remote for it without an upgrade by OFA or jp1.
For the TiVo, if the code Rob listed works for some functions, you should be able to use advanced codes to get most if not all of the original remote's functions.
First we need to know if it is working for you.

yes the code that Rob gave me for tivo does work i just used the learning for others i needed and i have also just ordered a jp1 usb cable...so i guess i am fine until cable comes i figure after reading the dummy manual for newbies on the jp1 i will probably have alot more questions coming soon as i get cable...seems like everyone says if you have jp1 cable you can get this remote to control just about anything...

Yes, just about. When you have jp1 questions it is best to ask them on the jp1 forum. See Rob's signature for more info on jp1.
