Does any know how to program in the discrete codes for the video inputs...ie: Video 1, 2, 3, etc in my Kameleon 9960? I need the discrete codes for the Sony KP-46WT520 RPTV. Does the 9960 have the JP1 capability?

The code are here, to map them to a key on the 9960, follow these steps:

1. press Tv
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
3. press OTHER
4. enter 9-9-4
5. press Tv
6. press SETUP, do not hold
7. enter the 3-digit advanced code
8. pick a key


If you want to move the discrete command from the TV device to another like SAT/CAB device, VIDEO 1 for instance, here's how:

1. press Tv
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
3. press OTHER
4. enter 9-9-4
5. press TV
6. press SETUP for one blink
7. enter 0-3-4
8. press SAT/CAB *extra step*
9. pick a key

and yes, the 9960 is JP1-able.

For an unmodified 9960 you need the pogo pin adapter to connect the JP1 cable to the remote. Rob sells modified 9960s that can be connected without the adapter.

I think the vendors selling JP1 cables also sell the pogo thing. For occasional JP1 use, the inconvenience of using that adapter is probably minor compared to modifying the 9960 to not need it. But if you haven't bought your 9960 yet, buying it modified from Rob is probably easier.

I don't see a code for Video 7. I see the codes for 1-6 but not one for Video 7. Any ideas?

If you check the Sony remote control site:

you'll see that the VIDEO7 button comes from a totally different device code. There's no matching OFA setup code for that Sony device code, so there's no way to re-create it without JP1.

I should point out also though that the 9960 is modem-equiped and the very latest version of IR.exe (the main JP1 program) is capable of creating WAV files, so you can use it to load upgrades without using a JP1 cable if you want.

Got the TV/2000 code loaded in and the Video 7 works great. Now pardon my stupidity but how do I get back the other functions that the old code had like Power, Menu, etc?

Note: To bring everyone else up to speed, I created a WAV file for Scott that included the VIDEO7 button in a setup code called TV/2000.

Is there a button on the remote that you would like to use for video7? If
so, use "key mover" to copy it there (key mover is described in the manual),
then re-program the TV/0000 setup code to the TV device button.

But before you do this, check the other buttons that are listed in the
little spreadsheet that i sent you to see if any of them do anything useful.
All the buttons that are part of the TV/2000 code are buttons that you
cannot create using the TV/0000 code.
