I picked up this remote since it has the IR unit. I need to to replace all my other remotes. So far, it has codes for my DVD, VCR and receiver.

However, I picked up a new plasma TV, by Daytek, and no codes are listed, as well as for the external cable tuner that came with it.

Any idea how I can find out these codes or make my remote capatible with the TV and tuner? Both have their own remotes.

I love the remote so far, it is sleek and works well.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

The URC-9911 has a modem onboard so you can load upgrades over the phone. Therefore, you could try calling OFA to see if they have codes for these devices.

Another option would be to get a JP1 cable, then you could make and load the upgrades yourself.

I see hte JP1 connector. But say OFA doesnt have any codes, is it possible for me to get the codes from the remotes that they use right now? Could I use the learning feature for this?

Would the JP1 cord solution be the best?

I assume the 9911 can learn the signals from the original remotes.

If the signals are simple enough and/or few enough that they all fit in the 9911's eeprom, then you don't need a setup code, and upgrade from OFA, a JP1 cable or anything else.

More likely they don't all fit. Then a JP1 cable is the best answer. With it you can read the learned signals and decode them and convert them into device upgrades that will fit.

you through the download (upgrade) procedure to add those codes in to your
remote control.
