Have tried all standard codes, including search mode and using learning feature and cannot get the OFA (4 in 1) to operate the Grundig TV.

Any help out there would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

I couldn't find any information on that specific model.

There seem to be a lot of different setup codes that are variations of the basic code set used by Grundig TV's (so I can't suggest any "best" setup code to retry), plus I think there are some Grundig TV's using code sets that aren't in that group at all.

I think your remote can learn the signals for the Grundig TV. It may not have enough learning memory to learn all of them. But I interpret "cannot get the OFA (4 in 1) to operate the Grundig TV" as meaning no functions work.

If you have any functions working, either by built-in setup code or by learning, you should say so. That makes a big difference.

If you have no functions working by learning, you should review the process you're using to learn. You're probably doing something wrong.

Thanks Johnsfine - however, as I stated (and I just rechecked all these again) the Grundig codes given don't work - neither does search mode (all 150+ ch+ clicks!!) and learning of any mode (power on/off being just one of many I tried). Process for learning is as followed on 975 instructions in the manual (i.e. set learn mode, display goes off, comes on and blinks twice when "learnt" - magic key for 3...). Still nothing...

The OFA only has one macro in it (5 key presses) and nothing else in the learn memory (although if there's a way to clear this down, I'll happily do that, too, if it will help).

I can't follow your description and don't have the official instructions handy, so my best guess is that you are confused by the same part of this process that has confused many others:

After you press the key on the 8040 to which you want to learn the signal, you should immediately press the key on the original remote from which you want to learn. (The two remotes should be properly aligned on a stable surface before you press either key).

Many people misinterpret the instructions to think that they should wait for the 8040 to do something after they press that 8040 key and before they press the original remote key. That is incorrect.

Also it is normally best to hold the original remote key pressed all the way up to the double blink (or failure blink) from the 8040. Try that way first. But in rare cases a very short press of the original remote key works better. Try that if the long press fails.
