I just stumbled into a great deal, a SAMSUNG SIR-T165 HDTV rcvr from Best Buy for $50. No manual or remote, though. Just downloaded the manual, and can't figure out the right code for my URC-8810. Plus, what button should I use for it. The only one that is open is the CBL button, so do I need to do a key shift? Plus, what's the code? Thanks.

I did a quick check of the list of setup codes Rob posted in the JP1 group and found only two official OFA setup codes that could possibly be right: VidAcc/1190 (which is only in the 15-2116/2117) and SAT/1276 (which is only in the 15-2142). I'm not certain whether one or both or neither of those is right. But I am certain that neither is in the 8810 nor is any other setup code that might be right.

That leaves two choices:

1) Get a JP1 cable and download and install the JP1 upgrade that has been posted for the SIR-T165.

2) Call OFA customer support and get authorization to mail your 8810 back to them so they can (use their equivalent of a JP1 cable to) install the official upgrade setup code (probably one of the two I mentioned above) for the T165 (which is probably inferior to the JP1 version). You only pay for one way postage, not for the upgrade. But you would be without your remote for a while.
