I can't seem to get the VCR2 function on the receiver to activate with this remote. I found that the Marantz RC5 code for this function is RC5:6:63, but is there anyway I can program a button for this directly from the remote? Or is the JP1 route the only way to go? I have my VCR, Digital Cable Box, TV, DVD player all working fine on this remote and the only thing I can't do is get to VCR2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sethos,
Hi. I have this information for the SR5300, and it should be the same for your SR-82, but it is in a Device Combiner format (jp1). I will look at it tonight when I get home, and if nobody provides the correct information before then, I will see if I can get you a device code and advanced code. The trick might be that the device code may not be in your remote, as the input commands for these receivers typically use something other than the 0269 and 0189.
If nobody has helped by tonight I will try to, and will explain further.
Jim

sethos,
Sorry, it looks like you will either have to send it to OFA or jp1 it yourself. I have the Protocol ID and Fixed Data for that command, but it does not appear to exist in a setup code in your remote (or any OFA remote). I am sorry.

Thank you very much for checking this out for me.
I think I might try the JP1 route - a good project for the fall.
Glenn.

I assume this is the same topic as the thread in the JP1 group:
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

I think you can mail the 8017 to OFA and have them add VCR/0146. In order to do that they add a 1K eeprom and JP1 connector (all costing you nothing beyond postage and time sending it). That will make it easier to use JP1 later in case VCR/0146 is wrong and/or you want to improve it.

If you're great at soldering, adding the connector and a 2K eeprom yourself is better than having them add the 1K eeprom, because some advanced JP1 features require the 2K eeprom.
