I have a Sanyo VWM-385 VCR that i operate with URC 5741B00 (dog ate original remote!) I can figure out most common vcr operations except changing the recording speed from the default SP to SLP. Everything I try to record ends after 2 hours and that sucks when recording football games. IF anybody knows how to change the mode on the VCR itself that would be peachy too!

Thanks,
Aldrup

If your model is anything like the 700 and 800 series Sanyo's, you can't change tape recording speed on the unit, just with the remote. You didn't say which VCR setup code works with your unit using your remote. Is it VCR_0046?

I looked up VCR/0104 in the advanced code list on my site and it appears that 230 is the advanced code for SP/LP. Unfortunately, you remote is a cheapo so it doesn't support the keymover function, which would have allowed you to program that code to a button, but I believe it does support the keymover-test function, which is the best you can do to change tape speeds.

Here's what you do...

1) Tap VCR
2) Tap SET
3) Type 230

That should change the tape speed.
Rob.
