Hello
I've come across an old Hitachi C32WD2TN2-311 television with its remote missing. I have a One4All URC-7530 which i am trying to use for this TV. I have tried all the codes in the manual but to no avail.
Does anyone know the code for this TV, or anywhere i could find out from?
cheers
KM

I checked a bunch of sources and I can't find any data for any Hitachi TV that isn't compatible with the TV/0145 setup code.

I checked the OFA support site for setup codes and they list lots of other setup codes of Hitachi TVs. So I guess they know about more models than I do.

I also don't have 7530 data handy, so I'm not even sure the 7530 includes TV/0145. Assuming it does, test that again, especially if it was just one of several setup codes you tested before. Turn the TV on from its front panel (assuming that works) and test the digit and/or vol keys of TV/0145. Those are even less likely to vary across models than other keys (such as power). If you find a setup code where any keys work, that is quite close to solving the whole problem.

I believe the setup code for that Hitachi model is TV/0481, which does not appear to be in the URC7530. However, like John says most Hitachis use very similar code sets, and I think TV/0225 which is in the URC7530 and is a close European equivalent of TV/0145 will most likely operate the majority of functions. Give TV/225 another try, testing it carefully per John's message above.

cheers guys.
i'll try this tonight. one problem i have is that when i switch the TV on it is on Standby so i cannot actually see the channels. I don't think this should make a difference in programming the remote but i could be wrong! (can't see any other way of getting the channels on as there are no buttons on the TV itself!)

Are you sure the TV isn't broken?

i think it does (but honestly cannot be sure). The standby light comes on and a few lights round the back (can see when the back is off!)

On some sets (and I honestly don't know if your Hitachi is one) the "power" button on the remote only puts the unit into standby, it won't bring it out of standby. To turn that type of set on, you usually press a number key -- i.e. the set "wakes up" and switches to a channel all in one step (just like the discrete input selects on some Sony audio equipment).

So be sure to try pressing a few number keys in TV/0225 to see if your unit wakes up.

just tried the options.....none of the above appears to work. Mailed OFA as well and they suggested 0225 too.
Am beginning to wonder if the set really does work at all?! :-(

If your TV is still OK then setupcode 0225 should work for at least the basic functions (setupcodes like 0481 & 0578 are for most functions simular). The original CLE-942 remote is a very common Hitachi remote, no problems for the One For All remote to emulate this.

So now you have to find out if there is a problem with the TV or your OFA. Guess you already checked & replaced the batteries in your OFA, now check if the OFA does work on other devices (VCR, second TV). If it does, you can be pretty sure there is something wrong with your TV itself.

Tested the OFA on a different (Sony) TV and it worked. Think problem must be with TV then. Will get it checked and see what happens.
Thanks all.
