Hi,

I have a Rotel preamp and would like to use my Cinema 6 and/or Cinema 7 (7200) one for all remotes with it. I haven't gotten into JP1...it kinda scares me.

Help would be appreciated.

JP1 is pretty easy, but your URC-7200 would require a "medium to difficult" hardware modification to make it JP1-able. If your C6 is a URC-6200 then it's the same story for that, but if it's a URC-6800 then the mod is really easy (it's just needs pins).

Also, the only way to be sure that you can create new codes using JP1 is if you have a learning remote, like the URC-7800 version of the C7. We do have a few Rotel files, but we don't have one for your exact model, so I can't guarantee if any of them will work. We have files for the following models: RSX-972, RA-985BX, RC-995 and RSX-1055.

As for using JP1, check out the following doc...

Rotel publishes Pronto ccf files for it's equipment. Assuming you meanh RSP-1066/1068 they are here:

They both have nearly identical commands the 1066 has numerals and the 1068 doesn't but otherwiswe they appear to be the same and they use NEC1:131.17, that AFAIK, isn't in the built in library for your remote.

You know what, I downloaded all of the Rotel files in the Yahoo file section and they all use the same protocol and device codes, and where they have the same function listed, they all use the same OBCs/EFCs too. So I just created a master file of Rotel functions. I guess we could download all the CCF files from the Rotel site too, to see if there are any additional functions listed, though the upgrade for the 1055 was pretty inclusive.
