I'm new to all of this. Just got the RS 15-2117 (unreal 14.99 clearance price) & I have a Samsung htdb600 with no remote at all. There is no matching code in the manual for this HTIB. Does anyone know if these are compatible? I read a little about JP1 but I'm a tad confused. Please help a hapless hurricane victim.

The only UEI remote to list a samsung audio code is the URC-6131, the code is AUD1295.

The 15-2133 and the URC-9960 also include the same audio/1295 code as the URC-6131 and list Samsung as a brand for that setup code.

I think AUD1295 is the correct setup code for your device, because there are a couple upgrade files in the JP1 group that seem to match it. If it is correct then the 15-2117 has no built-in setup code that will help with supporting that device.

If AUD1295 is correct, you can buy or build a JP1 cable and add AUD1295 to your 15-2117.

If it's not correct then JP1 is still your best bet for supporting that device, though a little extra investigation would be required.

Hey Robman! I was hoping you'd help answer my
question. It's the last post (15-2117 & Samsung
htdb600) & I'll give my RF transmitter to anyone
who can help me make this work.

I will confess to the fact that I hadn't read this thread before now, I had skipped it as it seemed to just be a "code search" thread from the subject line and there are others that are just as capable as me at answering code search questions. I try to concentrate on the slightly harder questions.

I have nothing to add or subtract from what Edmund and John have already said. I haven't researched this box myself, but I see that they have and I have no reason to doubt their findings.

If the 15-2117 doesn't have the needed code, and given the fact that RS doesn't offer any sort of upgrade service for this remote, your only option is to get a JP1 cable.

I've never heard of people selling JP1 cables on ebay before and it seems a funny place to look for one as you can get them for $14 shipped from http://www.hovisdirect.com/ I see the ebay listing is already up to $13 with shipping.

Thanks for the response Rob. The main reason for my using EBay is that I have plenty of money in my PayPal account and very little in my pocket. I did get the cable for $13 and I would like to be able to contact you guys again when I receive it. I'm quite sure I'll need some help getting started. Thanks again.

Wow!, It actually did'nt take too long for me to figure things out. My RS 15-2117 now controls everything on the Samsung. Thanks everybody for the input and assistance!
