Hey Robman! I was hoping you'd help answer my question. It's the last post (15-2117 & Samsung htdb600) & I'll give my RF transmitter to anyone who can help me make this work.

I guess you didn't like the answer I posted and you're hoping Rob can tell you I was wrong (It happens on occasion). But it's still better to ask in that thread rather than tack the request onto an unrelated thread. Rob probably already read that thread and didn't reply there because he had nothing to add.

If you don't like my reply there, you ought to post there something about what you don't like about it, such as you didn't understand it (and what aspect is confusing) or you just hope I'm wrong and want one of the other experts to second guess my answer (sort of the way I did to Edward's answer). Anyway it helps to say what you're looking for.

It's a pretty easy task via JP1. Maybe someone would trade you a JP1 cable for that RF thing. You can get free help and better instructions to do the upgrade in the the JP1 forum, or less easily in this forum.

Hey John,

Sorry if I offended you. It's just that my technical abilities could be contained in a thimble & it seems that Rob is the definitive voice on this remote. I bid on a JP1 cable through ebay and hopefully I'll have it soon. I'm not the slightest bit particular on who helps me I just want the thing to work, and I was serious about the RF transmitter. If you give me help with this (JP1 for dummies as you would) and your address I'll send it to you. I'll never need it as the remote works from across the room pointing away from the TV. But I am truly clueless on this stuff. Thank you again for your earlier reply and I would like to hear fom you again.

I'm almost never offended. I frequently give meta-advice in these forums (how to ask the question for a better chance at a good answer). Those posts really are intended to help the person who asked (and/or any other beginners reading the thread later) to get a useful answer. They aren't intended to indicate I was offended nor to offend the person whose question I'm critiquing.

I have no interest in that RF thing. I think you're probably refering to the RF_receiver_IR_transmitter, which is a seperate part, rather than to the actual RF transmitter, which is soldered inside the 2117. But either way I don't want one.

We're back!

My man just bought an Integra DTR-5.5 A/V and he wants to be able to control some of the functionality with our 4041B01. I tried using 0135 (Onkyo - same mfg.), but all that does is allow me to turn the receiver on, but not off!

Are there any EFC codes that will help me out? By the wazy, where do I find this stuff, so I don't have to bug you?

Not with code 0135, you'll find the OFF & DVD command using setup 0842, thats if 4041 has that setup code.

Yikes! A bit intimidating stuff......Where can I find codes for other functions, such as selecting video inputs, volume, and some of the other A/V stuff.

Thanks!

Thanks. I assume that I use 0135, since there aren't any specific codes for the Integra brand. Is that correct?

Hi. Me again.

I got most of the functions working using the Advanced Codes under 0135. I can't get DVD input nor Power off to work, as it doesn't appear that the 4041 has an 0842 setup code. Is there another one that I can use? What does 0842 refer to?

Its AUD 0842, if it's not in the 4041, then you're out of luck. The urc-6131 has AUD 0842 on board.

Well, I bought a 6131 (for $7.59!!) and now I can power the Integra on & off and can select a DVD input on that unit. Yippee!

Thanks, Edmund. You're a great help!

Ooops. One more question on the 6131. I tried to create a master power on and power off sequence, but it doesn't work as a result of having to set the Integra's Off button using AUD 0842. Is there a way to get the master power sequence to work?
