Hi. I hope someone can help me. I have various problems with my One for All 8910. At first it worked great but I think my husband might have been messing with it. The DVD rewind and fast forward buttons will not work. I have a Sony CD/DVD. I'm pretty sure they used to work. Possible a macro got mapped onto those keys or something? I have a JP1 cable coming so I could look and see if something got mapped to those keys (I moved a lot of keys around). Any suggestions? Is it possible to reset all the DVD keys without losing all my other devices?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You can clear only the dvd device of any advanced codes(EFC), in separate operation any taught commands as well.

To clear a device of advanced codes, here's how:

1. press dvd
2. press and hold SET
3. scroll down until you get to KEYMOVER
4. press SELECT
5. tap DVD
6. tap DVD again

To clear any learned commands:

1. press dvd
2.press and hold SET
3. scroll down until IR DELETE
4. press SELECT
5. now press each key you want cleared, one at a time,
6. EXIT

Thanks for your help, but I'm afraid that did not work. Maybe these keys never worked, but I sure thought they did. Is there a database or something that might tell me how the keys from the original remote transfer to this remote?

You can try the codes here:

To map those codes to a key on the 8910, go to the middle of this page:

WoW! I have now figured out that I can do advancecd codes to turn the TV to Video1 (TiVo), Video 3 (DVD), etc... The people at One for All help desk said that would not be possible because on the original remote there was one button that 'toggled' through them. SO COOL!!!!

One more thing. I have spent a lot of time searching around this site and never found until today the deal with the sony receivers AV1 vs. AV2. When I set my remote up, since I couldn't get it to work, so I called One For All and they downloaded 1758, which is what I have been using. My understanding is that this is a sort of patch code? If I switch my receiver to AV1 (which I can do easily, I already did it), could I get a "real" code for which the advanced codes are known? I switched he receiver to AV1 but none of the Sony receiver codes listed in the manual worked, so I had to switch it back and will use 1758 for now. What Sony code would I have to use if I had it on AV1? Thank so much.

The sony AV1 RCVR code that accepts EFC's is 0158, but you can also use the sony tape code 0243, which is already in the 8910. Switch to TAPE0243, map the EFC's, then change back to 1058. For this to work, you need the receiver set AV1.

8910 doesn't accept the TAPE_0243 code.

Sure it does, you need to change the device from RCVR/AMP to TAPE, then program code 0243.

1. press RCVR/AMP, or whatever device
2. press and hold SET
3. press SELECT
4. scroll down until TAPE
5. press SELECT
6. enter 0243
7. presss SELECT
8. exit
