I just thought I would try to offer an update on an advanced code for JVC DVD players on the Cinema 7 (Device Code 0558.

The code 047 is mentioned as a possible region code for the JVC XV-501BK. I believe (but am uncertain) that this is an error. On the XV-511BK the code activates the Parental control menu. The confusion probably arises due to the fact that the first line of the parental control menu is "region: USA".

By the way, thank you for this site. It has made my use of the Cinema 7, and my home theater in general, so much more enjoyable.
