I just purchased a Radio Shack Kameleon #15-2133 and tried the codes included in instructions to program a Technics Receiver #SA-GX505 with no luck. I've also tired their solution of manually finding a code with no results. Is there anyone who can help? If not, it's going back.

Have you tried simply learning the signals?

Rob, I haven't tried that because I wanted to know the code so I could include it into a macro for my system.

OK, you totally lost me there and it sure sounds like you are operating under some mis-conceptions about how the remote works.

You can include buttons in macros, regardless of how they were programmed.

After a signal that is badly learned but working, you often need a longer pause before the device will accept the next command than you need after a clean signal. This problem sometimes makes people think that learned signals don't work in macros. If you don't have JP1 and a learned signal fails in a macro, it's probably worth trying to relearn it and get a cleaner copy. With JP1, there are better ways to fix that.

Technics (I assume Panasonic protocol) devices are probably more likely than most to have the above problem when caused by moving the remotes while learning. Place both remotes on a solid flat surface for best learning. Don't hold one in each hand and try to learn that way.

Sorry Rob. What I was wanting to say is that I would like to get the new remote to operate the receiver without the pain of learning each key and then do the macros to sequence other components.

This remote is a learning remote, so if you find that you have a device that is unsupported, you can use learning as an alternative method to program it (but there is only limited learning memory, so only learn the buttons you really need).

I don't see how the learning issue and macros are related to each other.
