Although there are SETUP and SHIFT keys on the Producer 8 remotes, there is apparently no "Magic" key, per se. But but this 10-step, 15-key sequence works to enter an Advanced Code:

1. Press device key once.
(TV, VCR, DVD, CBL/SAT, TUNER, AMP, CD, AUX 1)

2. Press and hold SETUP key until TIMED SEQ appears on the display.

3. Press UP (Menu +) key once. CONFIGURE appears on the display.

4. Press SELECT once. THEATER SEL appears on the display.

5. Press UP key four times. KEY MOVER appears on the display.

6. Press SELECT once. FROM appears on the display.

7. Press SETUP once. The display remains the same.

8. Key in the three-digit Advanced Code. TO appears on the display.

9. Press the key on which you want to store the new command once. The name of the device and time of day return to the display.

10. Press the key again to test it (in the case of the 8800/non-RF models, be sure to aim it at the device ;).

If anyone knows an easier way, PLEASE tell me.

God, I am SO glad I did *not* get a Producer 8. Thank
you for helping me reaffirm my decision to buy the
Cinema 7 instead.
