Hi all,

I just bought the RS 15-1994 entirely on the recommendations of this forum. So far I like it but I can't find advanced codes for a few of the components in my system. Here is my equipment list.

Denon AVR-2700 Receiver
Proscan ??? TV
Proscan PS-8680 DVD
Sony 5-disc changer (old)
General Instruments DCT-2000 digital cable box
Samsung VCR

I've managed to get all of the six compenents to turn on and off with the remote but I'd like to know the advanced codes for the Proscan PS-8680 DVD player and the GI DCT-2000 digital cable box. There are a couple of buttons that don't appear to be mapped using the 4-digit codes for these two pieces of equipment. Any suggestions for where I can find these? I've looked through the FAQ and other places briefly without much luck.

Thanks,

Eric Finn

I know for a FACT that the advanced codes to the Denon receiver are on the starbase site.

Granted, the advanced codes don't match up exactly, but they do work.

Thanks for the pointer but I'm really looking for the codes for the GI cable box and the Proscan DVD player. I've managed to get most everything to work with the receiver but the DVD and cable box are still lacking. Sorry for the confusion.

When you want to request advanced codes, it would help greatly if you also provide the device code you are using along with some idea of how much the pre-programmed functions work for you. For example, if only a few buttons work, there may be a different device code that will work better with your piece of equipment.

Check out my FAQ for info on getting the advanced codes:

Gerard,

Thanks for taking the time to help me. I've since found the codes I need for my components.
Denon AVR-2700 - 0160
Proscan PS8680 DVD - 0522
Proscan TV - 0047
Samsung VCR - 0240
GI Cable box - 0476
Sony CD - 0000

I've posted another thread for help on the Denon codes though. Thanks for the great FAQ too!
