I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am unable to get my Cinema 6 to work with my new Yamaha HTR 5150. I've tried the codes 0176 & 0186 and I can't even get the unit to power off or on. The Cinema 6 works great with my other components.

Any help will be appreciated!

the cinema 6 is a learning remote, just learn the functions from your original remote - if you still have it.

I believe there are other Yamaha codes. Try 0133 or other codes listed in the book. Also, check out the FAQ for web sites that have other Yamaha codes. My Cinema 7 works quite well controlling my Yamaha 795a (same as 5150 or 1105 can't remember).

Once you get the right code for "general" functions, then you can use the advanced codes to do things like override volume while other devices are selected, or program the "L" keys to cycle through the DSP modes.

Amplifier (use AUX Device Key) = 0354
CD Player = 0036 & 0187
Receiver/Tuner = 0176 & 0186
DVD Player = 0490 & 0545
VCR = 0038
TV = 0019 & 0030
