OK. I've read through the posts here and understand the Echostar 4000 is RF only. I also see that the Home Producer 8 (URC-8090) can transmit RF. Is is possible to control the 4000 with the Home Producer 8? If not, I'm wondering why. Thanks for any help you can give.

The remote's ONLY RF capability is to transmit to its own base unit, not control RF devices. It is simply not designed to do that.
