I am having some problems with my Cinema 6 remote and the receiver from my RCA RT2300 HTS. This particular system is an "all in one" box set; I cannot tell what the model number on the receiver is. I can tell you that it isn't very high end. The problem is the given code only works the volume up, volume down, mute, and surround options; not the power. One little quirk about the original remote is that it takes a "double-tap" to turn off the receiver, meaning the power button on the original has to be pressed twice to turn it off. As I searched through the channels, I soon realized that it was futile because of the "double-tap" feature of the original remote.

My question is two-fold: 1) Does someone have a code that will work for this particular receiver? 2) Can I do a search for a better code with some other button than the power button?

The 6800 is a learning remote. What the manual doesn't tell you is that is can learn on almost all buttons and not just the L buttons. So try the learning sequence and use the POWER button instead of one of the L keys. You may still have to press it twice, but that's no worse than your original remote.

And any other functions of the device may be hidden in the advanced codes. Since you've got a device code working the Volume and Mute, then that device code is probably the best bet for the rest of your desired functions.

Look in a few other message threads for instructions for searching advanced codes for functions. I personally have posted them several times.

God luck,

Dave

I have the same RCA receiver at home. I just learned the feature in the remote and it works fine. I have used the macro feature and programmed to send the power signal twice.
