After losing my VCR remote, I came to this web site in search of a solution and I gotta say...I'm quite amazed at how much info and interesting stuff in regards to a little remote control!! :)

Ok, so I bought an URC6011 today and was able to set everything up for my TV/VCR/Cable box...pretty cool!! :P
Just out of curiosity......
My remote is using device code 0000 for my old RCA VCR VR-355 (I checked the code from the remote) and I looked up the advanced code list for VCR 0000 and saw the "Eject" function as 528.
My question is...am I able to program an eject function button on my remote for my VCR?? (ok...not that I'm lazy...I'm just curious and want to play with the cool features!! :P )
The user manual doesn't say anything about setting new functions...
If it is possible, what are the steps to set it up?

Thanks!!!!!!!!

IF you want to map a advanced code to button on the 6011, here's how;
1. press the device(tv)
2. Press and hold setup for two blinks and release.
3. enter 9-9-4
4. tap the setup for one blink
5. enter the advanced code,528
6. pick a key

Since the 6011 has fewer keys than some other UEI remotes, you may want to use a "shifted" key.

In Edmund's step 6, rather than just pressing the key you've picked, you press the setup key (short press, one blink) then press another key.

I always put eject on the shifted stop key. To send stop you just press stop. To send eject you press setup (short) then press stop.

Without JP-1, there are a few keys that you can't pick in step 6, so watch the LED. A double blink in step 6 means it worked. A single long blink means it didn't like your choice of key.

If you REALLY want to play with the coolest features, set it up for JP1, add an 8K EEPROM, use John's extender and set your hair on fire =:0
