How do I control two dishnetwork box with 1 remote. I set one box in mode address 1 and the other in mode 15. I have a radio shack 19-1925. I can use it to contorl the box set to mode 1. Can I do via JP1(read about it, but never use it) or is JP1 the only option? I also have radio shack 15-2117. I can control both box via code 0775(mode 1) and learning(mode 15). However, this remote has so little memory, so that I think if there a code there for mode 15 (or other than mode 1),I can use the memory for other function.

Please help
Thanks

I think you need JP1.

With some models of UEI remote you can control addresses 1 through 4 via KeyMoves, which use less memory than learning. But that memory is still limited and isn't a great way to set up a whole device. Plus I'm nearly certain that neither the 1925 nor the 2117 are models that are able to do that.

I know you can use JP1 to setup up any address you want for a second (or more) dishnetwork box on the 2117. I'm pretty sure you can on the 1925 as well (but I'm not an expert on the 1925).

After further investigation (I was looking at SAT/0775 for another reason) I think there's a good chance I was wrong about the 1925 and 2117 being unable to do that trick with keymoves.

I hope you know how to test EFC codes (AKA advanced codes).

If I'm not too confused at the moment, the EFC code for CH+ is 081.
The EFC codes 073 and 097 are the same command (CH+) for two other modes. Unfortunately I AM confused about which two other modes and I don't think it is the same two other modes on a 1925 as it is on a 2117. My wild guess is that one of them on one of the remotes is "mode 2". I'm sure none of them are mode 15. On just the 1925 the EFC code 089 should be the same CH+ command in a 4'th mode.

If you find one of those other_mode CH+ commands that works, I can tell you how to compute all the other EFCs for other commands and how to assign them to keys (use a moderate amount of keymove memory instead of a much larger amount of learned signal memory).

If all that works, it's still the hard way vs. using JP1, but I wanted to mention the possibility.

After selecting the right device mode (meaning press a device key)

1) Do a short press of P
2) Key in the first two digits of the EFC number
3) Aim the remote at the device
4) Press and hold the third digit of the EFC number

There is a time limit of a few seconds between each step, so don't stop to reread the instructions in the middle.

If you want to test the same EFC several times (such as when trying to ftest what mode they are), it's easier to do a Key Move first and then be able to test as a single keystroke. Follow the instructions in message #3 here:

Didn't work. Key in the code, tried mode 2 to 4. In theory, it should work without going to the JP1 route if there is set of code out there for mode X.
