George, A list of advance codes won't do you any good, unless you already know the device setup code that works most or at least some of the functions for your receiver. If you already know the setup code, we've REPEATEDLY asked that you inform us which setup code you need the advance codes for. IF you know the setup code (ie rcvr_wxyz), Rob has a pile of advance codes lists at his site, www.hifi-remote.com, and it's just as easy for you to look them up, and print them out as it is (actually easier) for us to do that then compy and paste them here. IF, however, you haven't been able to find the setup code that works at least some of the functions for your receiver (ie. thru the remote's "search" procedure), then you probably should be asking for the setup code that works the receiver (if one exists) before asking for advance codes, since the latter is really worthless without the right setup code. Jim PS, your better off with a better title than just "advance codes", which requires the reader to read the whole post rather than have a clue that he might be able to help, from just reading the "title". IE, something like: "Need advance codes for a JVC wxyz receiver". Better yet: "Need advance codes for RCVR_abcd for a JVC wxyz receiver" This message was edited by jamesgammel on 05/31/03 10:48.

I did go into the website and found the code (0074), but I am looking for the advance code that changes the tuner functions from lets say..... tuner, vcr, tv, cd etc... I can change it from all of these except to the tv function.
thanks, george

George,
I *think* you're saying you need the advance code for Rcvr_0074, for the TV input select for the receiver? I'm getting a little lost because TUNER FUNCTIONS generally means thinkgs like AM or FM, station preselcts (memorized stations set to a particular button), scan, seek, etc.
Receiver input slect functions would be the discrete (sometimes a toggle) code to select the various inputs (what you plug into the back), like a cd player, vcr, LD, TV, tape, dvd p[layer, tv, etc. Of course, a receiver has a tuner built in, so selecting "tuner" would just set the receiver so you can listen to the tuner (radio).
So, your just missing the advance code that selects the discrete "TV" input? You already have discretes that select all the other inputs?

You are correct Jim, sorry for not making things alot clearer. I just need the discrete "TV" input.

George,
Did you try "119"? If "119" does change the input to "an input", and it's NOT the TV input, what input does it switch to?

Jim,
Just tried code 119. It didn't do anything.

I can't seem to find the TV advance code, I tried 171 and that changes my input to dvd (which I was missing).

Since the video of the tv doesn't go through the receiver, the only thing you have connected is the audio. This is usually connected to the tape inputs, which is discrete code 026. Have you tried this?

Tried code 026. Unfortunately nothing happened. I'll keep searching.

The following works with my JVC 884 receiver and a 15-2116 remote (also using 0074 code): TV: 203 DVD: 171 VCR: 121 CD: 024 Others(AM/FM,Tape...):059,170,026,020,119 Note to get the menu,L,R,Up,Down, select and exit keys to work, I had to enter codes from another device (using JP1). Alternatively you could simply learn them. Discrete power codes (useful in macros) listed in " [Link: hifi-remote.com] " work for my receiver... Garth

Another alternative is to make a micro macro to get you to the tape input. I gather you have to cycle through the inputs on your original remote. Since you already have discretes for all of the other inputs, you could make a micro-macro using the discrete code for the input directly before the tape input, and then one press of the button that cycles the inputs. Two commands are fairly easy to teach to one button, but you have to be fast. I know how one little glitch can lessen your enjoyment of your remote, so I don’t mean to belabor the obvious, but there should be some simple solution for this problem.

The above codes are discrete and should directly set the input source to the receiver.
The macro method would be a good work-around for receivers that do not have discrete commands to select the source...
