PSX-5500 DBS direct tv system. I cannot get my cinema 7 remote to work with my Philips Direct Tv Receiver. I tried the standard 0722, 0724, and other codes. This is not the recoder unit. But, a stand alone satellite dbs system. I was wondering if a cheap 8011 would work? My Cinema 7+ worked just fine with all my tv/audio equiptment until my hughes direct tv receiver went poof. Then I got sent the philips receiver. I don't have the cable to program the 7800 with and would be easier for me to just pickup a 8011 controller. I'm open to all suguestions. Yes, I know I can probably teach the remote too.
Thanks,
Josh

There isn't code for philips receiver in any ofa/rs remote. The philips suffers from a toggle bit problem, so you won't be able to use a learning remote with this receiver. Check this thread for a good explanation of "toggle bit"; [Link: remotecentral.com]Dump the receiver, get another Brand.

I noticed Philips has a 6 device remote. So I asume this is the route I would take. It is around $24.00 and available at best buy. It also says it will work with DBS systems and other brands ofcourse.
Thanks for the help,
Josh
