Hi All,

Anyone get any One4All remote to work with the Dish 721 Dual PVR (EchoStar, DishPro 721 made by JVC)?

I tried the Cinema 7 (URC-7200) with Device Code 0775.

Some things work, such as pause, menu, channel change. However, other things, including rewind, fast forward, and zap do not work.

Anybody have any luck with this?

I noticed there ia a 1005 Device Code on some of the newer remote models. Anybody try that one with the 721?

Thanks,

Mike

I don't have the 721, but I do have an RCA UTV, which always responds to the 0755 code. It's because they share the same webtv service. Anyway with 0755 code the only transport function that works is the STOP command. But using the 1005 code, all the transport functions work. So there's good chance that's code you need. The remotes I have that have code 1005, are the RS 2117 and OFA 9910.

Well, I tried the 1005 code on a URC-6012b, but no luck. I guess that's for a Dishplayer.

Any other ideas from anyone? Or is it time to switch remotes?

Device Code 0775 is correct, but it's been updated for the newer DiSH receivers/PVRs, so you need a newer One4All remote than the ones mentioned in your messages. For example, my RS 15-2116 works great with my 721. Although I can't confirm it directly, I'd expect the new 8811 would work.

Thanks DLF,

I got the URC-8811B00. At first, it also did not work.

That is, most of the transport functions including rew, ffw, skip+, skip-, play, & stop did not work with the 0775 device code. Advanced codes also did not work for those funstion. Also, several other functions did not work, like, exit, PIP, swap, Position, ....

There are 2 options to get it to work.

1) Have the 8811 learned all those commands. I did that at first, but was not happy with the results. Learning that many functions is hit & miss and the final result is not super reliable.

2) I also got a jp1 cable with the 8811. Thanks to user danman5566 on Yahoo jp1 group, I found the following file:

[Link: f1.grp.yahoofs.com]

Simply open the file in ir.exe, upload to the remote and vola! Everything worked real slick. Much better than learning all that.

Just thought I would share.

Thanks all,

Mike
