Anyone got codes that One for All can use for this terrestrial digibox? 0140 and 0173 work after a fashion, but neither allows Menu key use, nor can step up and down program numbers.

There is a CCF file for that device located here:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

My newer ccf2efc program (in the Yahoo JP1 group, not the old one at RC) can decode that CCF.

Unfortunately, the urc7541 handles that protocol slightly differently than what I assumed in my decoder (I haven't had time to check and see if I made bad assumptions or if there are just incompatible versions floating around), so if you did decode that CCF the EFCs would be wrong. In almost all cases the correct EFC (for the urc7541) is 8 more than the decoded EFC.

I did decode (and add 8 to) the CH+ and CH- keys and notice that (as you indicated) they don't match the values in CBL/0140.
CH+ = 092
CH- = 047
menu = 140

You can use KeyMoves (the 994 command) to fix individual keys to the correct EFC number. The method is mentioned in many threads here and in manuals on Rob's website:
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

If you want a few more keys beyond the three you mentioned, ask again and I'll look them up in that CCF file, or you could download the CCF file and the program and look them up yourself.

If I guessed wrong about urc7541 (the only remote I know that has CBL/0140 and CBL/0173) then tell us which model remote you have and whether those setup codes were built in or were downloads from OFA so we can do a better job of helping.

Thanks. The One for All model is URC-7544, and these setup codes are listed for Grundig Sat. box, but both came up using Quick Search. I would be most grateful for a few more keys to try.

Have you tried the first three I gave you? If those didn't work then I'm converting something wrong and there's no point trying others without first figuring out what's wrong.

I actually meant specific functions. If you tell me which functions you're missing, I'll look for them in the decoded CCF file.

Sorry, I haven't a clue what I am supposed to do. Should I try 0140 as the entered code and then some method of entering 092, 047 and 140 as key codes? I really do not know anything about One For All other than what is in the manual, and their webside is not available. I am also looking for codes for a Yukai DVD player which does not respond to Quick Search.

Those three digit numbers are EFC numbers. Much of the documentation regarding EFC numbers refers to them as "advanced codes". One good description of what they are and how to use them is here:
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

That discussion refers to the "SETUP" key. I believe the "SETUP" key on a URC7544 is labeled "Magic".

The URC7544 is very similar in behavior to the Cinema7. Many features of the URC7544 are missing from the official OFA documentation, so if you read about Cinema 7 features on Rob's site try those features on the 7544 and they will probably work.

For example, to test 092
1) Press SAT (I assume that's what your CBL key is labeled).
2) Review steps 3 to 6 because you can't pause for more than a few seconds between them or it won't work.
3) Press Magic
4) Key in 0 9
5) Aim at your Grundig Sat box
6) Press and hold 2
7) See if it has any affect on the Grundig.

If that works, you can reprogram the CH+ key to be EFC 092 as follows:

1) Press SAT
2) Press and hold Magic until you get a double blink
3) key in 9 9 4
4) Press Magic
5) key in 0 9 2
6) Press CH+ (should get another double blink)
7) Test CH+ to see if it now operates the Grundig.

Hi,

I've got a GDT-1500T and a URC-7544!

I use SAT code 0173 and this seemed to be the most correct.

Other useful extended function codes :
140 = Menu (as johnsfine suggested)
141 = Exit
142 = TV-Guide
502 = Text

I don't have the other codes to hand, so if you need some more let me know - from memory, the colours are wrong and Left & Right are round the wrong way.

Just FYI, when the main OFA site is down, you can get to the country specific sites using these URLs:

North America:

South America:

Germany:

New Zealand:

Europe and everywhere else:

And of course, there's always my site...

Great! Sincere thanks to all of you who have helped me up this learning curve - it's like learning machine code for Z80 twenty years ago.
Now (after 200 clicks on QuickSearch) if I can just get this Yukai DVD player to respond......

just get this Yukai DVD player to respond......

I checked several major libraries of IR signals and I can't find anything for Yukai.

I did an Altavista search for Yukai to try to find other brand names under which the same products were sold. I couldn't find any info about Yukai in English. Altavista also gives me Spanish pages (I don't know how to turn that off and I know only English). There seems to be a lot of info about Yukai in Spanish and I THINK some of it says the same products are sold under the "Creative Labs" brand.

Next I went back to the IR libraries and found Creative Labs, but only CD's not DVD's and all using the protocol NEC1:33.172 which I don't think is in any UEI remote.

If you buy or build a JP1 cable you could add NEC1:33.172 to your 7544 remote and try it (Some brands use the same IR signals for DVD as for CD). It's a bit of a long shot, since I'm not even sure about what I read in Spanish connecting Yukai and Creative Labs.

If you can examine the DVD player looking for other company or brand names (and patent numbers etc.) and/or do a better web search than I did, you might find another brand name for the same device, which might help finding its IR signals.

Thanks for your work. Yukai is marketed in Europe from its service centre in Germany. Some of the Web sites that mention it (notably one French site with information on region codes)hint that it is a Mustek clone. Don't know if this is helpful.

Looks as if I need a dll file for reading the EFC correctly, and it requires joining Yahoo. TO avoid all that, can you tell me the EFC for the i (information) key, using SAT 0173 for the Grundig?
Regards,

Ian

Ian,

There's another thread which is covering the Grundig as well and I've gone and decoded the CCF that's mentioned there. Anyway, to cut a long story short, here's all the EFC's I found from that file.

Chan- EFC=039
Chan+ EFC=084
"1" EFC=228
"2" EFC=231
"3" EFC=229
"4" EFC=102
"5" EFC=100
"6" EFC=103
"7" EFC=101
"8" EFC=038
"9" EFC=036
"0" EFC=230
"R" EFC=055
"G" EFC=183
"Y" EFC=053
"B" EFC=215
"Info" EFC=212
"TXT" EFC=246
"Up Arrow" EFC=087
"Left Arrow" EFC=068
"Right Arrow" EFC=070
"Down Arrow" EFC=085
"OK" EFC=006
"Exit" EFC=133
"Menu" EFC=132
"Power Toggle" EFC=007
"TV-Guide" EFC=134

Hope this all helps! I also found that the left & right arrows are round the wrong way on the remote so you might want to change these.
