I have a Pace Cable DI 1000T set top box, so I believe I need the Kameleon if I go to a universal remote as opposed to other remotes. But instead of a TV I have a Sony VPL HS2 Cineza projector. Will I be able to get a code to control this device? I can't find the info on One-For-All's website. Also, given it is May, should I wait for the new Kameleon to come out before buying one.

You don't specifically need to the Kameleon, as you can use any One For All remote that has the Pace code. If you get an upgradeable remote, then even if the code doesn't come pre-installed, you can have it added.

Projector codess are mixed in with the TV codes.

Thanks, Rob. You have simplified the process enormously. Looking at your website, hifi-remote.com, my impression is that you favour the Cinema 7 as a good all-round remote. I can't find that on the One For All site, which may mean it's not available in the UK. Can you recommend another?

When I started the site, the Cinema 7 and the 15-1994 where the two main remotes everyone liked to use, but they where both US-only remotes and they have both been discontinued.

I can't really recommend a UK remote because I think they're all really ugly IMHO, but finctionality-wise the URC-7560 is your best bet. But I should warn you, all of the OFA remotes over there are really expensive.

If you were to get a US remote instead, you would need to also get a JP1 cable because many of the codes you would need for UK devices would not be in the US remote.

My recommendation would be to get a URC-8811 and JP1 cable package from Bluedo.com (and I know that they do ship to the UK).
