I am seeking the remote control "set-up code" for a Sony DAV-C990 (Compact AV System) for input into Radio Shack's Kameleon. Can anyone help?

There isn't one, no universal remote has a code, Sony replaced the remote code set, and told no one. If they do come up with a new code to use with the Kameleon, your's can be upgraded then.

You can add the setup code for it yourself by using the JP1 tools.

Read johnsfine's messages (never mind the posts by others) in these threads for some pointers:

There's a device upgrade file for DAV-C770 in the JP1 group. It may be easier to start from this file.

You can find more codes here if you need:

I think I'm in too far for my limited knowledge. At this point, if I could just program the on/off, I would be satisfied until I can learn more.
Thanks for your responses!

Bruce,
Don't be intimidated by JP1, even though you can do amazing things with it, you can also do really simple things with it, like adding a code for your Sony.

As Hal pointed out, there is an upgrade already prepared so all you would have to do is load it.
