Hi,

I've just made a JP1 cable per instructions on the JP1 newsgroup. Pin 1 is not labelled on the male connector in the remote (2117, presumably 2116 is the same).

Is Pin 1 on the side of the connector toward the front (sensor end) or back end of the remote?

Thanks!

OK, Pin 1 is towards the bottom (away from the IR sensor) of the remote. I got impatient and just tried it, my first guess was correct and the IR test passed. Just in case this helps anyone else!

ehart,

with the JP1 cable, what kind of codes are you trying to add to your 2116 or 2117 remote? just wondering.

Why not post a list of all the devices you are trying to control with your 15-2117? I am sure other forum users would be interested in hearing about your sucesses and/or trials and tribulations.

OK, I will do. I am only starting, but here's what will be included:

Classe pre-amp (CP-35)
Adcom multi-zone tuner/preamp (GTP-506)
Pioneer CD changer/writer (PDR-W839)
Radio Shack TV/VCR (this is builtin already).

The Adcom and the Pioneer in particular have a ton of codes. I've got complete code info via email from Classe and Adcom, and help from a fellow at OFA. So I expect to get all this working fine. I will post the final results and files.

BTW, the JP1 cable and software worked first time. Pretty amazing.

Eric,

What software did you use to develop the hex?

also did you ever think about modifing your 2117 remote to control x10 modules directly without a IR543 controller (if you use x10 stuff)?
