I have a PanasonicCT-36D32 TV which uses the 0250 code. I have tried the extended codes for Video1, Video2, and Video3 from hifi-remote.com with a Radio Shack 15-2103 but they didn’t work. My question is, If my TV is using 0250 are the extended codes definitely there in my TV and I’m missing something, or could they not have been included in the TV programming?

Thanks Edmund, I had actually read that thread earlier, but I assumed that it didn't apply since the 15-2103 wasn't upgradeable short of sending it in. I'm thinking that my particular TV just doesn't have the EFC's programmed in it. I'm actually just using the 15-2103 to try and get discrete codes for my MX-500. I have IR-Clone, if someone had the 0637 discretes setup in a IR-Clone file, couldn't I copy them into my config? In particular, I'm looking for the video1, video2, & video3 discrete codes.

The 2103 accepts the advanced codes, it's just that the some tv's don't respond to them. There's no guarantee that discretes exists for your tv.

SH,

TV_0637 isn't going to do you any good. Video's 1-4 are only found on 0250, COMPONENTS *may* be found on 0250, but component 2 will always be on 0637. If the listed advance codes in that first post in the thread that edmund posted didn't work your model panny TV, only TWO possibilities exist: 1. You didn't test or program them in to your 2103 properly, or 2. Your TV doesn't have the firmware to support the discretes.

You failed to mention if the kepmapping for the 2103 includes the TOGGLE code, and if that works. Does it cycle thru the inputs? Let's assume it's there, and on the tv/vcr button. Try programming it's efc, "284" to one of the buttons you tried to program the 3 video input discretes to. If THAT doesn't work, then your efc programming becomes suspect, especially if "284" is already on another button and working. I'm trying to rule out user error with using the advance codes. If THIS DOES work, and you follow exactly the same procedure with the 3 listed efc's for the video inputs, then we can safely assume that your TV simply doesn't have the firmware to support the discretes for those inputs. Let us know

Hi Jim, Thanks for the thoughts. I had tried everything that you had suggested except mapping the toggle code to one of the keys that I was trying to use as an input key. I did that and it works fine, so I reprogrammed it with the vid1, then vid2, and vid3 efc's and nothing. I'm kinda surprised that the efc's don't work since my TV is only about 4-5 months old, but I guess that the breaks, there are no guarantees. One thing that was different, you mentioned efc 284, however the toggle code that I used that worked was 184, I did try 284 but it didn't do anything. Was the 284 a typo or am I still missing something?
Thanks again!

SH,

Sorry about the typo, it is indeed 184. Since you got the 184 toggle programmed ok, that eliminates the user error. That just leaves the conclusion that your model doesn't have the firmware for discrete inputs. Apparantly regardless of newness/older model, your model wasn't "high enough" for Panny to consider "worthy" of allowing discrete inputs in it's firmware. If you have enough keymove/macro space left you could make several mini-macros starting with the basic toggle "entry" point, and the number of "presses" to eventually get to the input you need. I don't know how that fairs with your MX-500 tho. Can you "learn" a macro execution sequence? I suspect not.

Thanks Jim, I have my inputs programmed by using the ch. down then input however many times to get to the input that I need. It works OK, I just wanted to try to use discrete codes so it would be a little faster. Thanks again for your help.
