Does anyone know how much of this is mechanized in the code and how much has to be programmed. My remote is an 8811. I am contemplating sending it back for an upgrade.

Elliot,
You should probably investigate getting a JP1 cable and you could make this or just about any other change that you would ever want. But in this highly unusual case, there is a setup code VCR_0432 that IS in the 8811 that is just about identical to DVD_0820. If you do these key moves you will have the same thing:
EFC Button 084 Arrow UP 088 Arrow DOWN 122 Arrow LEFT 123 Arrow RIGHT 171 SELECT 198 LAST 214 +10 245 REWIND 246 INFO
You will have to look up the 994 keymove proceedure in your manual.

Thanks. I have been using 0432 in the interim. Isn't 432 nominally a GoVideo code? It doesn't look like I will gain much by sending the remote back. I don't have any memory capacity issues at present. BTW-I really don't want to get into JP1. I have enough hobbies!

Elliot,
You don't need the JP1 cable to do the key moves above and they will save some memory for something else either now or when you need it.
