According to message 20298 in the JP1 group from Don Miller who always knows what he says:

The Akai DVPS760 uses the same codes as a Daewoo 5700 or 5800. The
upgrade for the daewoo is available in our files section:
[Link: groups.yahoo.com]
20Codes/DVD/Daewoo%205700.txt

This uses NEC1:128 and I don't believe any setup code exists. It would be easy to do with a JP1 cable and the upgrade already exists. Perhaps RS has a phone upgrade available.

Aren't there three different models of "Kameleon", only one of which is an RS model? Where did Jorsan say he had the RS one?

I haven't heard of RS provinding any phone upgrades. Have you heard of that?

The JP1 software lets you create a .wav file from any of our upgrades, so he could do it himself. It's not the easiest or best documented JP1 activity, but it's still surprising that so few (if any) Kameleon owners are doing this. It seems the cleanest approach to upgrading a Kameleon.

RS is providing phone upgrades if you call the support number included with the remote.

Thanks for your interest but I cant open the link (dont know why). Having in to account that I understand the concept of the JP1 idea of programing, looks hard and expensive -because I have to buy a special cable- to do this. So aparently there is no easy way to do it. Is possible to use the "learning" process and redefine all the buttons of the DVD option or this just works with the macros? Thanks again.

Maybe you can't open the link because it was split across two linesand needs to be put back together. Maybe you can't open it because you didn't join the JP1 group yet.

You can use FREE JP1 software to convert that upgrade to a .WAV file that you can play from a PC speaker into your Kameleon with no JP1 cable. FREE isn't very expensive (assuming you have a PC and speaker already). It could be considered hard. It's at least harder to learn than using JP1 with the cable.

You can learn the functions rather than getting an upgrade. Depending on which model of Kameleon this is, you might be likely to run out of memory before learning all the functions from a moderate size orriginal remote (I believe the 8060 Kameleon has twice the learning memory of the 2133 Kameleon).

Rob's website is the best starting point
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

From there you can find Rob's enhanced manuals on several models (If he hasn't enhanced the manual for your model, read some of the other ones, because the Kameleon's 99x commands are pretty much the same as those of other models, 7560 etc., that support .WAV files).

Rob's site also links to the YAHOO JP1 group, where you can get the JP1 software and FAQs and ask more qustions about it.
