I recently purchased a URC 6012 to replace my aging cinema 7 hoping I could get away with a non-learning unit because of the TIVO advances codes.

Well...

I program VCR or SAT to code VCR/0618 and everything works great with my Hughes DTivo (Series 1), but when I go to program the advanced codes for clear (663) and Jump (441), they don’t end up working. Programming the remote never signals any errors, and after the program, the once empty buttons now send some sort of IR frequencies. But, alas, neither clear nor jump work on my DTivo.

Anyone else have any similar problems or setup?

The 0618 code in the 6012w won't accept advanced codes, the only remotes that accept advanced codes for VCR0618 are the RS 15-2116, 2117, 2133, and the OFA 8910 & 9910.

Does the 6012w support any advanced codes? If it does, why doesnt it support this one (VCR0618)?

So.. the 6012w doesnt support the JP1 interface without a hardware mod AND it doesnt support the advanced codes? Weird. Why would a new remote take a step backwards in functionality?

You right, I think the new line of ofa remotes are step back, but as for code 0618, up until now, no remotes allowed advanced codes for 0618. Before you can step back, you need to go forward first.
