I ordered a Kameleon yesterday from RadioShack, so I should have it in a few days. I'm pretty new to this whole universal remote thing, so do any of you other Kameleon owners (or anyone else) have any tips that would be helpful? I've read a lot of other threads in the forums, and have figured out that discrete codes are a good thing, if you can find them. I have mostly Sony equipment(CD, DVD, Receiver), and a pretty old Mitsubishi TV. Any advice on where to find discrete codes for them that will work with this remote? And what is this JP1 that people are talking about? Another thread made it sound like you can create .wav files that you can use to program the remote. Any insight on any of this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

having mostly sony equipment, you might be able to get by fairly well without JP1. I'm not a Kameleon owner myself, but I think they look cool. Welcome!

Thanks! The advanced codes seem to be exactly what I was looking for. I guess we'll see in 4-7 days how well everything works.

Rob's collection of advanced codes (above) is impressive, but for Sony you may find that RHM's collection of codes is even better.

RHM's codes are specified in device+OBC form, (without JP1) you need SetupCode+EFC form. So Rob's version will be easier if you find both. If you find what you want only at RHM's site, he does have a table on one of his pages to tell you how to translate the device+OBC info into EFC. He has setup codes as well, but they won't fit the Kameleon very well, so you'll need to consult the Kameleon documentation or ask here if you don't know the right Sony setup code.
