I am following all of the directions in the manual but I cannot get the 8811 to learn from any of my remotes. Right after the rapid blinking (when you choose the button you want to learn to) there is another brief blink which is not mentioned in the manual. Then I press and hold the button I want to learn on the old remote and wait for the 8811 to confirm with the two LED blinks. It never happens and nothing gets learned correctly.

What could the problem be? This 8811 is new and I have new batteries in it. thanks in advance!

You need to press and hold the button on the old remote BEFORE the rapid blinking stops.

Usually after that, it is best to keep the button on the old remote pressed until the rapid blinking stops.

Thanks John! Its the simple things! The manual wasn't super clear on that point but it works just fine now.
