After reading some of the reviews on this site I decided that the 15-2116 is the remote that fits my needs/budget the best. My plan was to slowly migrate to JP-1 programing but right off the bat 2 of my 4 devices will not work with the standard codes. My dvd player is an Onkyo DV-S535 and it will not work with the supplied code in the manual. I know there have been issues with onkyo recievers (I have the Onkyo TX-ds575) and it sounds like the only way to get this reciever to work is thru the JP-1 interface. Has anyone had success getting an Onkyo DV-S535 DVD player working on this remote with a different code? I would like to try programing with JP-1 but seeing I just discovered this site less than a week ago I am intimadated by the process.

I like the look, feel and price of the remote but am very disapointed in the support for onkyo devices.

There is an upgrade posted in the JP1 group specifically for Onkyo DV-S535.

1) If you decide to use JP1 that makes it much easier because someone already did most of the work for you.

2) That upgrade uses the same protocol and device numbers as UEI protocol DVD/0627. No pre installed setup code in the 15-2116 can substitute for DVD/0627. Unless the posted upgrade is totally wrong, your only choices are get an upgrade via a JP1 cable or learn every signal from the original remote.
