Hi,
I've searched this forum and haven't found any reference to this.
I have a Panasonic CT-34WX50 TV using an 8811B remote with code TV_0250. With code 250 the 8811B doesn't control PIP on/off but does control SWAP (as well as most everything else). I've tried using advanced code 232, the 8811 accepts it but it doesn't do anything. In fact, I have not been able to use any of the advanced codes in TV_250, although the advanced codes work well in the VCR_0616 device code. BTW, Ihave the same problem with a 4880B.
I saw a couple of posts about similar TV's and video source but nothing about PIP problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

Fran

Fran,
TV_0250 was the mainstay Panny TV code for some time, and to a degree, still is. However, lately, they've added a lot of additional functions, and inputs. These newer models have been a Royal PITB since Panny switched to a different DEVICE code to cover some of the additional functions. That generally neccesitates use of a combo code to "combine" the 2 (and sometimes 3) Device codes that they have the functions spread out on so MOST of the functions are on only one DEVICE BUTTON (TV). IF you can live with using 2 device BUTTONS, you can get TV_0636 ADDED by ueic by sending the remote in to them.
I don't know if ueic has "officially" released the TV_0650 combo code yet, that's a combo of TV_0250 AND TV_0636 which of course means you'll only need to use one device BUTTON to control the TV; However, you may LOSE some functions since there are only a set number of actual buttons on the remote, and more functions available than buttons, UNLESS they also factory provide for Shifted_keys to include more.
The other alternative, if you don't want to send the remote in to be upgraded, is to use JP-1 and make your own upgrade, or use one another JP-1 member has already made and posted in the files section at the JP-1 yahoo group.
