I'm extremely new to the world of hacking remotes but I've already got my JP1 cable assembled and ready to go. I'm concerned with my choice of recievers though. I am ready to buy a URC-8811 but I would like to make sure that it works with this "all in one" reciever.

Any advice on a remote that would work with this system would be very much appreciated. My price range is less than $50.

I have no idea whether the 8811 without use of JP1 supports a Pioneer HTD-510DV completely, partially, or not at all.

With JP1 you can create an upgrade, if necessary, to support almost any device. I'm sure you can support your receiver.

If it's a common receiver (or shares the command set with a common model) and support isn't built in to the 8811, then someone has probably done the work already and put a file in the JP1 group's devices folder. (I haven't checked).

The 8811 is a great remote. It has a lot of buttons (which may be important if "all in one receiver" implies a lot of different functions). Some people prefer a physically smaller remote (though a smaller remote with comparable features is hard to find). Others want an LCD. Other than those two factors, I don't think you can find another remote as good as the 8811. (I still prefer the urc7800, but they're getting hard to find and they need the JP1 connector soldered).

I have the HTD-510DV and none of the built-in codes (on a 2104) work for it (it uses the Pioneer MIX protocol, combining codes from several devices).

All is not lost, however, and there's no need to re-invent the wheel... I built a complete Device Upgrade using KM (it can be found at the JP1 group in the Device Codes folder).
