I have a Cinema 7 One For All (7800) remote. I've tried several different other types and brands of remotes and I find this one the easiest to use, so I'm hoping I can adapt it to my new equipment.

I'm thinking about buying a Pioneer home theatre setup - the HTD-520DV. It includes a 5 DVD changer and a receiver all in one unit (along with speakers, etc.)

I was wondering if anyone had used this combination and how to deal with a combined unit like this (with DVD and receiver all in one). Will I be able to get most of the functions using the pre-programmed codes and the advanced codes? Are the DVD and receiver functions programmed separately (on separate device keys)? There don't seem to be any codes for these all-in-one units. Dividing the two functions is OK for me, probably preferable since I'd like to avoid learning if possible. I was particularly concerned about functions like moving from one disc to the next, which doesn't seem to be covered under most DVD advanced code sets.

I'd like to avoid using learning functions because I also use the remote for my Replay, which had to be completely programmed using learning. So I'm almost out of learning memory.

Thanks,
Karen

I have an HTD-510DV (last year's model?) and was unable to use any of the built-in codes from an RS 15-2104. The 510 uses one of the more complicated Pioneer protocols that requires 2-byte commands, which precludes using Advanced Codes input directly into the remote as well.

Using JP1, I was able to build an upgrade that controls all the features from the OEM remote. My file is in the Device Codes folder at the JP1 group and it probably would work for the 520 unless Pioneer made any drastic changes to the new model.

Thanks for the advice. I guess I'm stuck since, as a Mac user, JP1 isn't available to me. I don't know any nice PC users who will let me mess around with their computers.

Since the Pioneer system was out of stock everywhere, I had time to think twice and I think I may give up on buying it for the time being. I'd definitely hate going back to multiple remotes!
