I searched the forum for this question, but could not find it.
Does anyone know if it is possible to Learn to the Power key? The manual says No, but I'm wondering if there is a way.
I have an unsupported Onkyo Receiver/Amp - none of the preset codes work for it. My only option is to Learn from my Onkyo remote. The problem is that the power button on the 2116 will not learn. I get an invalid message on the LCD.
My questions are 1) is there any way to program the Power button, other than using the JP1 cable and software solution?
2) If the Power button can't be programmed, has anyone figured out a good workaround? Do I have to learn the power function of my Onkyo Remote to some other button on the 2116?
Thanks.

Use a different key for the Power function. For my DVD player I use the Sleep button. I hear you can do a lot more with the JP1 cable and software, but I haven't tried that yet.
