Is there a way to accesss inputs directly on this receiver with the 15-2116 remote? The original remote doesn't allow direct access either, you have to scroll through all of them with the input select button until you reach the one you want...I was wondering if there's a work around for this.

Thanks,
Vin

As with any question like this, you should always mention what setup code you are using, then the various experts (who mostly won't have the device you are talking about) can simply look up the setup code here: [Link: hifi-remote.com] and see if discrete input codes are listed.

I'm using set-up code 1023.....I checked for discrete codes at your site but didn't find any.

Oops, I just found that I do have direct access buttons on the original remote for the Pioneer 711 that I can learn to my 15-2116. I just go the receiver yesterday.....nevertheless, I'm obviously a knuckle head!

You won't find any advanced codes for that setup code (ie, 1023) because it doesn't support them. It uses a 2-byte protocol which means the only way to program new functions (if indeed, they exist) is with JP1.

The 1023 code is a combo code which combines Pioneer device codes 162, 164 and 165. There are individual setup codes that correspond to those device codes, as follows:

162: CD 0032
164: RCVR 0080
165: AMP 0013

So, it might be possible to create discrete codes using those setup codes.

RCVR 1023 won't accept advanced codes, but AMP0013 will, it is in the 2116. So you need to apply the advanced codes you get from AMP0013 to RCVR1023. To start you need one device AMP0013 and another RCVR1023, once done you can turn AMP0013 into whatever you like. Check here for advanced codes for AMP0013;

[Link: hifi-remote.com].

To move advanced codes from AMP0013 to RCVR1023;

1. hold P
2. scroll down to keymover
3. select
4. AMP(0013)
5. hit P
6. advanced code
7. select
8. RCVR(1023)
9. pick a key
10. exit

It worked for me.

You don't really need to use two different device buttons, you can program a device button with the AMP/0013 code, then program some buttons using advanced codes, then change it back to RCVR/1023.

That precious learned memory you used will probably comeback to hurt you when there isn't a preprogrammed code at all for one your devices.
