I have found a source in Hong Kong for the part that often breaks causing backlight failure in remotes like the 15-1994 and the Producer 8s and want to get a feel for whether it's worth ordering a quantity of them. So, how many people have remotes with broken backlights and would consider trying to remove the old part and solder in the new part?

The price shouldn't be too much, so that probably won't be a factor.
